Welcome to the CYC Gymnastics Program, one of the best programs in Northern California.
Our primary goal is to develop well-rounded individuals through gymnastics in a fun, safe, caring and structured environment.
CYC offers Recreational Gymnastics classes, Tumble Tots for 3 to 5 years and School Age for 6 and up.
Class Structure
At CYC, we offer more than just a place for recreational gymnastics. We provide a positive learning experience for your child. To allow each child’s development in a safe and positive manner, our Tumble Tots classes have a desired 6 to 1 student to coach ratio and our School Age classes have an 8 to 1 ratio.
Gymnastics Programs
-
Our Preschool program is focused on overall child development. Using Gymnastics, we encourage body awareness, strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, hopping, running and cross body movements. In class they will experience different sensations such as spinning, rocking, swinging and going upside down. Preschool classes are designed to improve your child’s physical strength, coordination, flexibility and motor skills.
-
Our Tiny Tots class is for students 3 years old (and potty-trained). Our Tiny Tots class is our introduction to Gymnastics. We use Gymnastics terms, introduce Gymnastics Events and equipment and work on taking directions from someone other than their parent, waiting in line, working together and taking turns.
-
In our Tumble Tots class, we continue to work on Gymnastics terms and basic fundamental skills for each event. Your child will be encouraged to try new skills and activities while increasing self-confidence in the process.
-
School Age students will work on developing their motor skills, strength, balance, flexibility and coordination while learning and perfecting their Gymnastics skills and techniques. Our School Age program has 7 levels with 4 components per level. Each component has 10 skills. When a gymnast successfully completes a skill, the skill is checked off on his or her Skill Card. When the gymnast completes a minimum of 7 skills within the component, they may advance to the next component or level with the start of the next session.
Each level encompasses a large range of skills. Some skills are very easy, and some are very hard. Most of the skills are lead-ups or progressions to more difficult skills. Some of the harder skills may not be introduced until the gymnast has mastered many of the easier skills.
Registration
The Gymnastics Program is a Sessions class. Each Session is 8 or 9 weeks long. To enroll in one of our classes you will need to attend an Open Enrollment for Session classes. It is first come, first served. Once enrolled, your enrollment will continually be automatically re-enrolled for the next Session. New members pay a $35 set-up fee when they register, class starts the following month. Autopay is required.
Attire
Girls must wear a leotard. Legging or shorts may be worn over it. Hair must be pulled back away from face. No jewelry is allowed with the exception of stud earrings. Only bare feet please.
Boys: T-shirt and shorts. Only bare feet please.
Rules
-
For the child’s safety, please arrive on time. The warm-up is very important to your child’s safety and required by our insurance. Therefore, students arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed to participate in class.
-
Due to insurance restrictions and for the safety of your child, no one is allowed within the training area before class begins or without an Instructor. When class is over, the gymnast must leave the training area. The Instructors will need to start the next class and therefore cannot supervise them. Only registered gymnasts are allowed within the training area. Our insurance does not allow parents or non-registered students in the training area.
-
Session classes require students to attend 75% of the Session to have your registration validated for the next Session. This means in an eight week Session, your child cannot miss more than two classes. If they do not attend 75% of the Session, they forfeit their priority registration spot for the next Session.
